What is wealth?
If you’re like the average person, you work hard to earn a paycheck, and probably spend more of it than you should. You do try to put some away with the goal of someday becoming wealthy. What does wealth mean, exactly?
There are a few different interpretations of wealth. Many think that being wealthy just means being able to buy whatever you want. Living in a big house, driving an expensive car, wearing nice clothes, having nice jewelry. Once you get all these things, you’re wealthy right?
Well, no. Not quite. See, many people have all those things, but live deeply in debt, paycheck to paycheck, on the edge of financial ruin. One small hiccup and the house of cards could come tumbling down. That doesn’t sound like wealth to me.
No, wealth is the couple who live in a modest home that is paid for, drive modest cars that are also paid for, and have very little ( if any ) total debt. These folks are happy with what they have, and don’t desire to have the latest and greatest thing out there. Perhaps these folks even retired young to enjoy simple lives – working on a garden or building things in the garage. Wealth is having enough, and knowing that you have enough. Once you get to that point, you will be wealthy.
