I know I just made my first Llamafolio purchase, and I’m not traditionally one to rush into things.  But after doing a bit of research, I’ve decided to make Walmart my second purchase.  I’ll be earmarking approximately $800 for my Walmart investment.  After the Zecco commission, that leaves $795.50 for the stock purchase.  That’s about a half-percent loss, which I can deal with.

Why Walmart?  Their income has been solid for a long time, and their stock has been underperforming lately.  They do have over $30 billion in debt, and that concerns me.  To balance it though, they have $40 billion in inventory, and about $5 billion in cash laying around.  With that in mind, the debt doesn’t concern me so much any more.

At the current share price of $48.74, I can purchase a total of 16 shares of WMT stock.  The total transaction cost is $784.34 ( $779.84 plus $4.50 commission ).

Now I have spent a total of $1177.39, and $822.61 left for further investments.  Let’s see how things go.
