The IRS is one of those agencies that you simply don’t want to mess with – they can make your life hell if you don’t handle your taxes properly.
Besides, nearly everyone who files taxes ends up getting a refund. There’s a good chance that there’s a sack of money sitting on an IRS agent’s desk, with your name on it. He’s holding your money for you – and all you have to do is take the time to file your taxes. When everything checks out, he’ll release your money. And remember – he’s not paying you interest. Filed mine February 1st electronically. Received my refund two weeks later. Now just waiting around for my economic stimulus check to be mailed. Come on 1st week of May!

I got my refund on February 29th – so I was a little slower than you. I’m sure glad I didn’t procrastinate too much though, since my refund was quite a nice windfall.
I’m looking forward to that silly stimulus check too – my savings account needs some help!

On second though, I may pick up some more silver with it, if prices look good around that time.
