Welcome to Llama Money – born November 1st, 2007. I’ve been blogging for awhile on several different sites, but this is my first real venture in the world of personal finance blogging. I’ve been mulling over the idea of this site for over a year now, and finally decided to get it started. Let me give you a little overview of what this site’s purpose is.

There a ton of personal finance blogs out there – a ton. Most PF bloggers are either up to their neck in credit card debt and trying (valiantly) to get out, or they’re loaded and living in a whole different world. Me, I’m squarely in the middle of middle-class America. I’m young ( 25 ), without a *ton* of debt, though I do have quite a bit more than I’d like. I have a mortgage, a 401(k), and even a Roth IRA. In other words, I’m financially in OK shape, though I think I have a lot of work ahead of me. I’ll be posting very detailed analyses of my income / expenses, as well as my net worth over time. With a semi-public account, I think I may be motivated to work harder to improve these numbers.

I am not a professional writer, so please excuse the occasional spelling or grammar error. I do like to earn a little coin on the side, so there will be ads present on this blog. I will do my best to keep them unobtrusive and reasonable, but they will be present. Being upfront is my style, so there are no surprises later. Anyway, stay tuned for a net worth snapshot, which should be up in the next few days. I won’t be able to post every day ( or several times a day like some bloggers – yikes! ), but more likely several times a week. Thanks for reading.
